Statement by the Press Secretary on the Situation in Venezuela

The United States congratulates the Venezuelan people for their participation in the April 14 presidential elections in a peaceful and orderly manner. We call on the Venezuelan government to respect the rights of Venezuelan citizens to peaceful assembly and free speech. We also urge everyone to refrain from violence and other measure that could raise tensions at this difficult moment. The United States notes the acceptance by both candidates for an audit of the ballots and supports calls for a credible and transparent process to reassure the Venezuelan people regarding the results. Such a process would contribute to political dialogue and help advance the country’s democracy.

Nicolas Maduro the ILLEGITIMATE SELF-PROCRAIMED …

Dear Journalists,
In memory of the victims of the Boston Marathon
It seems that Nicolas Maduro, the current president in charge, got very used to break the law, manipulate, and distribute disinformation all these actions to remain in power.
In international law only countries are recognized, not governments.
The infamous Maduro imitating Hugo Chavez’s strategy blames wrong doings to others. That is, Venezuelans just suffered a Coup d’Etat following Maduro’s claiming that he won the elections when he did not. The illegitimate being reports that the opposition plans a Coup d’Etat by demanding a recount of the votes. There were many irregularities reported in the vote process conducted by Chavistas.
At this time Venezuelan citizens are convinced that Maduro reportedly did not win the presidential elections. Henrique Capriles Radonsky won the election.
The electoral agency http://cne.gob.ve/ seems to be blocking to those outside Venezuela access the results.
Further, there are reports of clandestine polling stations where those with inappropriate identification voted.
Opposition leaders Henrique Capriles Radonski and Leopoldo Lopez are claiming harassments by Chavistas.
The Rayma carton dated April 16, 2013 shows an accurate situation:
The evening of April 15, 2013 citizens protested against Nicolas Maduro usurpation of power:

The International Court of Justice, busy at it is, should make time to prosecute Hugo Chavez’s thugs who survived him for abuse of power, fraud, and more fraud if the alleged algorithms and open violation of the vote are true.
Venezuelans need help from world leaders to assure the safety of the opposition leaders, and the International Court of Justice, to resolve abuse of power in Venezuela and restore democracy.
