Venezuela's Political Disaster - January 28, 2007

Dear Journalists,

Those of us who follow the news from Venezuela knew that Chavez had other plans when he was first elected president. Even though, I was still shocked when the infamous leader refused American aid in 1999 after the devastating landslides that killed thousands of people, and changed the geography of the area affected. The word at the time was that Chavez was a puppet of Fidel Castro, and an uneducated deranged paratrooper who had communist ideals. Since then the word is that Chavez just talks and does not listen to the needs of Venezuelan citizens.

In 2007 Chavez has achieved total authority and behaves like a thug with a hostage nation. Or is it a nouveau rich doing as he pleases? This is troubling from an individual that his daily behavior is similar to the one of a domestic violence abuser, who has no dignity nor respect for anyone. And, is stubborn to proceed with the closing of RCTV network as reported in the next link because he says so:

Below please find link to opinion article written by Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat commenting on how Chavez is forcing communism against the will of Venezuelans. Please keep in mind that most of the people who voted for Chavez in the last election did so under duress, or just do not know any better.

To the international organizations representatives who receive my e-mails, why no one has been successful to protect democracy in Venezuela? Chavez is like a bad virus, perhaps high technology specialists could give some clues on how to correct the terrible situation where Venezuela is.

And to Chavez, why are you destroying a once peaceful and prosperous nation? Do you hate Venezuelans? Are you blinded by power and are just following Fidel Castro's ideals? If I am wrong to my perception of your government, please act constructively to assure the well being of all Venezuelans.

Cordially,

Maru Angarita
