Dear Journalists,
Shame on CBS Network for broadcasting infamous Joe Kennedy’s
CITGO commercial! Yearly former Congressman Joe Kennedy has a television
commercial praising Dictator Hugo Chavez for providing free or low cost fuel to
his organization to assist the poor in Massachusetts. For the last several
winters those of us who oppose Hugo Chavez, and are advocates for Venezuelans
suffering his abuses to the nation, have been outraged by Joe Kennedy’s
adulation for the infamous dictator.
Sadly, Joe Kennedy does not listen and many of us have been
snubbed out while trying to explain to him or his assistants of accepting this
type of aid for the poor in Massachusetts. At the same time Venezuelans are struggling from
lack of supplies including food, electricity, cannot buy foreign currency, and
the list of blockages is long. All of this while Hugo Chavez and thugs live the
good life in abundance.
A few months ago while at the cashier at my neighborhood
grocery store in Maryland, a man approached asking me about my foreign accent. I
told him that I am an American citizen born in Venezuela. The man started
praising Hugo Chavez similar as the Joe Kennedy commercial. Customers rolled
their eyes, and I left frustrated about those who do not see the whole picture.
Joe Kennedy should know by now that Hugo Chavez also
provides fuel to Bashar Hafez al-Assad, the President of Syria, so he can
continue killing his own people. This is among other outrageous foreign
interventions that Hugo Chavez and thugs do.
Perhaps, Joe Kennedy can intervene and have Hugo Chavez assist
Venezuelans abroad, and individuals who have investments in Venezuela to be
able to continue businesses and help the local economy, and themselves. Perhaps,
Venezuelans can also buy US dollars in order to buy most needed supplies as
Hugo Chavez and his supporters freely buy in the United States and elsewhere.
In case you missed it below are some previous reports that the
television networks can read to get a real opinion of the free fuel:
The International Court of Justice, busy at it is, should
make time to prosecute Hugo Chavez, and his thugs who survive him, for fraud if
the alleged algorithms and open violation of the vote are true.
Venezuelans need help from world leaders, and the
International Court of Justice, to resolve abuse of power in Venezuela and
restore democracy.
Cordially,
Maru
