Venezuela's Political Disaster - February 11, 2006

Dear Journalists,

I would like to express my embarrassment with Prime Minister Tony Blair and the British people after the comments made by Chavez against him. Please know that Chavez's insults and thug-class statements are part of the typical behavior of this infamous leader who seems to have taken hostage the Venezuelan people. Please know that the Venezuelan citizens I know and love do not follow nor support this hideous situation and are very ashamed of Chavez and literally detest the situation in which there are in.

Chavez's political persecution against the democratic group Sumate (
www.sumate.org) seems to be part of his deranged obsessions. The directors of Sumate are in great danger and need the help of the international organizations in order to avoid the execution of legal actions against them just for trying to enforce democracy in Venezuela. It seems that Chavez prosecutors may be acting under duress and/or have lost reason and the understanding of justice.

RE: Venezuela's Political Disaster - February 8, 2006

Dear Journalists,

It seems that Chavez gets away with everything that he wants. He has won all the previous elections even if there have been very questionable results and abuse of power. Today the news is that Chavez's prosecutors want to imprison democratic group Sumate for accepting US$54,000 from the United States.

At the same time, as we all have watched Chavez's allegedly supports financially several countries and groups as long as they hate the United States. So, Chavez is able to do as he pleases and places vicious sentences to those who oppose him. Isn't this against the law?

Attached below please find report about Sumate written by Alek Boyd:

Chavez has several political prisoners, are the representatives of Sumate to be added to this abuse of power? All your cooperation in reporting this situation will be greatly appreciated.

The following article written by Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat published today gives a good description of the absurd situation in Venezuela.
