Venezuela's Political Disaster - April 14, 2007

Dear Journalists,

Attached herewith please find link to article "Triangulo de Amor y Odio" written by Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat reporting the ethanol negotiations between U.S. President George W. Bush and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula. Lula was not influenced by Chavez at all in these negotiations!

During the last several days there have been a lot of e-mails reporting human rights abuses in Venezuela in the cases of political prisoners including Francisco Uson who has been placed on isolation because of his letter supporting Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) as reported by in article titled "Castigos a Francisco Uson representan mas violaciones a los DDHH." The Human Rights Foundation wrote a new letter to Chavez asking him to stop the abuses against Francisco Uson.

The following link is to article "In Venezuela freedom of expression is infringed."

"The Association of Chilean Broadcasters (Archi) forwarded a letter to El Mercurio newspaper showing both rejection against the Venezuelan Government's move to close private TV network RCTV and support for the TV channel. "It is noteworthy that Radio Caracas TV is being closed against the Venezuelan law and Constitution, by an authoritarian government exerting control over the three powers of the state, and therefore all we have left is international solidarity to oppose to this decision," the letter stressed."

In related matters, Internationalist Maruja Tarre criticizes in the article "Reveron Triste" linked below the current Armando Reveron art exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where a Chavista guide is allegedly distorting history.

Journalist Eleonora Bruzual writes on her article "Miente Sin Sonrojo" that Chavez lies calling everyone coupsters when in reality he is himself "the shameless coupster."

Please all your cooperation in helping Venezuelans restore democracy will be greatly appreciated.
