Primary elections on February 12, 2012

Update at 10:00 p.m. EST

Henrique Capriles Radonski won the primary election in Venezuela.  He will face Hugo Chavez in October.

This is the first time in several years that Venezuelans sound happy and full of hope to get rid of infamous Hugo Chavez!

All international observers must be aware that Hugo Chavez allegedly has rigged previous elections!

Congratulations to Henrique Capriles Radonski, Maria Corina Machado, Diego Arria and Pablo Perez for the amazing campaigns!  Hopefully, they will all be in the next presidential cabinet.

At this time shortly after 7:00 p.m. EST Venezuelans have voted in the primary elections.  Twitter users are sending the unofficial results.  I will post the official results when available.
So far, the turnout of voters exceeded expectations.  Throughout the day several citizens sent me messages from different polling stations and said that there were long lines to vote.  Over 2.2 million people participated in the elections.
