Venezuela's Political Disaster - January 11, 2006

Dear Journalists,

Attached herewith please find link to article written by Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat denouncing Chavez's plans to use a park in the middle of Caracas (i.e. Rockcreek Park in Washington) to lodge 30,000 guests for a world social forum.

http://opinion.eluniversal.com/2006/01/11/opi_art_11491B.shtml

Chavez seems not to know about environment protection as several of his acts abusing land for ecotourism like Hato Piñero, frequent oil spills, and other abuses show (please see references).

In other matters, a group of very concerned Venezuelan citizens contacted the Organization of American States today questioning the Secretary General
José Miguel Insulza's recent comments concerning the December 4, 2005 parliament elections in Venezuela. Please read my blog dated December 10, 2005 for the original pronunciations. It seems that Secretary General Insulza is minimizing the situation.

Oddly enough I was able to read this article on the Venezuelan press this morning and this evening I have been unable to find the article published in El Universal. I will add it to my blog as soon as I find the Internet link to this article.

Cordially,

Maru Angarita

RE: Venezuela's Political Disaster - January 8, 2006

Dear Journalists,

Is Chavez going to compensate Venezuelans for the financial losses and high prices that will arise by the imminent collapse of the Caracas-La Guaira Viaduct? There are comments blaming previous governments on the deteriorated conditions in which transit routes are in Venezuela; however, isn't the current leader responsible of the maintenance of the Viaduct?

Most employees start new jobs cleaning up and improving the area left by previous employees. Doesn't this also apply to government posts?

Attached below please find press links reporting the situation with the Caracas-La Guaira Viaduct:

It is of utmost importance that Chavez stops the shenanigans wasting funds with personal ambitions and get serious about producing for and protecting Venezuelan citizens.
