U.S. Congressman Mack and other news

Dear Journalists,

U.S. Congressman Connie Mack denounces Venezuela’s (Hugo Chavez’s) ties with terrorism in his op-ed piece published in Fort Myers News-Press:

Venezuela`s numerous ties to terrorism make nation worthy of condemnation

http://www.news-press.com/article/20091105/OPINION/91104073/1015/opinion/Connie-Mack--Venezuela-s-numerous-ties-to-terrorism-make-nation-worthy-of-condemnation

U.S. Congressman Mack wrote: Today, the Fort Myers News-Press ran an op-ed I wrote that refutes several false claims made by the Venezuelan Ambassador in a Wednesday
op-ed piece about my resolution to name Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Ambassador Bernardo Alvarez-Herrera: Fight terrorism in South Florida
http://www.news-press.com/article/20091104/OPINION/911040345/1015/opinion/Ambassador-Bernardo-Alvarez-Herrera--Fight-terrorism-in-South-Florida

It is so sad that Venezuelans have to be lead by Hugo Chavez where most of citizens dislike him, and do not condone his extremist and bad taste behavior. Chavez’s has placed Venezuela on a worst political situation where the nation was when he performed two coup d’état attempts against former Venezuelan President Carlos Andres Perez. Now (ahora) Chavez is not fighting corruption, nor violence, nor taking care of the people, but increasing his presidential budget a 638 percent for the 2010 fiscal year as recently reported by Le Monde.

Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat wrote a summary of the end of the crisis in Honduras (we hope) that explains Chavez’s direct involvement in that nation:

El final de una crisis

The Cato Institute in Washington, DC announces on its website lecture by Venezuelan María Corina Machado as follows:

Cato Policy Forum Featuring María Corina Machado, President, Súmate. Moderated by Ian Vásquez, Director, Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity, Cato Institute.

Journalist Eleonora Bruzual in her radio broadcast from Miami, Florida had the following subject:

Venezuela en manos de un demente traidor... (Jueves 5 de noviembre de 2009)

http://www.gentiuno.com/articulo.asp?articulo=8336

As you may know Chavez is trying to implement in Venezuela environmental protection rules à la third world after he has completely ignore them for the last ten years.

Venezuelans need help to restore democracy, end corruption, and allow citizens to live in peace and love free of threats and hostilities. Chavez must stop the abuse and allow people to reconcile since he has completely segregated citizens with those who support him and those who despite him.

Venezuela's Misfortune continues ...

Dear Journalists,

Ambassador Adolfo Taylhardat in his biweekly column published in El Universal.com explains how deep Hugo Chavez is with his armament dreams seeking part in nuclear bombs and assisting Iran with technology, and materials needed:

El embrollo de Mascheroni
http://www.eluniversal.com/2009/10/28/opi_art_el-embrollo-de-masch_28A2959611.shtml

The controversy about golf courses in Venezuela continues to the point of ludicrous arguments where Chavez seems not to recognize golf as a sport. Golf is a sport, and the golf courses provide jobs to many Venezuelans, and open spaces needed in the city. At the same time, there is a controversy if allowing bull fighting in Venezuela, which is not art, nor sport, but plain cruelty and sadistic abuse to innocent animals. Please remember that recently Chavez raided the sports hunter president of Globovision television network inspecting for alleged proof of animal abuse.

Chavez, or those around him, must get a clear picture of what is going on. Golf courses are good for the environment, beauty of the city, and provide a good activity for Venezuelans. Bull fights are sick, cruel, and it is not a sport, and must be stopped as a show in Venezuela. Those working in that field could use their energy to present music shows at the plaza and provide a much healthier and peaceful entertainment for civilians. Chavez has money to give free Mirages to Ecuador, why doesn’t the infamous leader make an honorable change and stop the infamous bullfighting and provide a lucrative show business for those on that field? WinWin?

While I do not agree with the controversial movie director Michael Moore, the attached video has made me think twice about him. Moore's statements are very close of the general opinion of infamous Hugo Chavez:

Venezuelans' Misfortune

Update 2:

Showering With Hugo

http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?id=510519

Update:

Chavez increases his presidential budget 638 percent as reported by Le Monde:

Hugo Chavez augmente de 638 % le budget présidentiel du Venezuela
http://www.lemonde.fr/ameriques/article/2009/10/26/hugo-chavez-augmente-de-638-le-budget-presidentiel-du-venezuela_1258665_3222.html#ens_id=1253873

Dear Journalists,

While Venezuelans had peace during two weeks without Hugo Chavez abusing the networks with this infamous talk to the nation the pathetic leader is back on the air:

Se inicia ‘Aló Presidente’ tras 2 semanas de ausencia
http://www.noticias24.com/actualidad/noticia/105480/se-inicia-alo-presidente-tras-2-semanas-de-ausencia/

Venezuelans who have been able to travel abroad with the basic foreign exchange allowance provided by Chavez have found that their Venezuelan issued credit cards are not accepted in most places. Venezuelans have to wait embarrassing moments while their credit cards wait for authorization approvals to no avail.

http://www.cadivi.gob.ve/

Doesn't Chavez know that one of the reason why Venezuelans despite him is because of blocks in the economy while he has become richer than ever? In addition to the fact that Chavez gives free money to nations to eventually control them.

Polls: Chavez's popularity slips in Venezuela
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/22/AR2009102200210.html

Chávez Sees Red at Thought of Golf Greens (never mind the new golf courses in Cuba)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/09/AR2009100904246.html

Chavez's hypocrisy detesting the rich while behaving like a nouveau rich himself is a trait that makes him even more unpopular. Chavez should stop his monologue to help Venezuelans get out of the misfortune that he represents loaded with corruption, and bad company.

Chavez's Abuse of Power

Update

Le Monde in Paris, France published a report on Caracas' Mayor Antonio Ledezma. The report explains the situation that the opposition mayor has to deal with under Hugo Chavez's abuse of power:

Dear Journalists,

Venezuelans are outraged that Hugo Chavez has no respect, nor could not care less for private property. This week Chavez expropriated a Hilton Hotel in the tourist island of Margarita. Below please find reaction from the Venezuelan business chamber:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Washington, D.C., October 1, 2009

Re: TODAY’s Venezuelan Students Abroad Protest and Document Submission to the Organization of American States in Washington.

Over 30 students protested today, October 1, 2009, in front of the OAS Administrative Building in Washington, D.C. and submitted the attached document which called for the OAS to take firm action on the issue of political prisoners in Venezuela.

The document was personally and respectfully received by Dr. Santiago Canton of the OAS-Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and by Mr. Raul Alconada of the OAS-Department of Democratic Sustainability. A copy of the document was also handed out to over 100 OAS staff members and visitors as they entered or exited the building during lunch time.

Thus, the group’s protest resulted effective in making OAS officials acknowledge the current democratic and peaceful struggle students in Venezuela and around the world have endured for the protection of the social and human rights of Venezuelans. Additionally, effective was their highlight of the individual names of those 40+ who are illegally imprisoned for engaging in peaceful political activism or for disagreeing with government policies and politics.

Protest in front of the OAS in Washington, DC on October 1

Revised

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Venezuelan Students Abroad Protest in Washington - OAS

Venezuelan Students Abroad and sister organizations will gather THURSDAY, October 1, 2009,from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, at the entrance of the Organization of American States Administrative Building in support of 160 students holding a hunger strike at the OAS Office in Caracas, Venezuela.

For the past six days, a growing number of Venezuelan students in Caracas have joined a hunger strike calling for an investigation of rights abuses by the Chavez government. "Political prisoners in Venezuela are denied due process, and are thrown in notoriously dangerous prisons under inhumane conditions," according to Venezuelan Students Abroad, which said that "the treatment violates the democratic principles enshrined in Inter-American Democratic Charter which Venezuela ratified as a member State of the OAS." Around 40 Chavez critics remain in prison, most of them awaiting trial on protest-related charges, according to the Venezuelan Penal Forum, a local human rights group.

The student organization and sister organizations will ask the OAS to take action immediately against political persecution in Venezuela. In addition, it will ask that the OAS review the cases against political prisoners, and other humans rightsabuses under the government of President Hugo Chavez. The protesters will deliver a letter by student protesters in Venezuela, and will join them in demanding that the OAS send a mission to Venezuela to study political persecution.

Dear Journalists,

Venezuelan Students are on Hunger Strike

Update:

Estudiantes Venezolanos en el Exterior - Washington, D. C.
Venezuelan Students Abroad - Washington, D. C.

For Immediate Distribution

The Venezuelan Students Abroad - The Washington, D.C. members and members of sister organizations will gather THURSDAY, October 1, 2009,from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, at the doors of the Organization of American States Administrative Building to manifest our support for those students and former political prisoners holding a hunger strike at the OAS Office in Caracas, Venezuela.

Please join us in raising awareness on the repetitive attacks against democratic political participation and on fundamental human rightsthat take place in our country. Political prisoners in Venezuela aredenied due process, and are thrown in notoriously dangerous prisons under inhumane conditions. This treatment given to critics of thegovernment or of government policies by Venezuelan authorities goes against the democratic principals articulated in Inter-AmericanDemocratic Charter which Venezuela ratified as a member State of theOAS.

We ask that the OAS in recognition of the respect it owes to thepeoples of Latin America and to its Democratic Chapter take actionimmediately against political persecution Venezuela. Thus, we furtherask that it reviews the demands of these students and former politicalprisoners, as their cases exemplify how extreme political discrimination has been in Venezuela under the government of PresidentHugo Chavez.

Furthermore, we will present the authorities of the OAS with a letter from those in Venezuela and will join them at demanding that the OAS send a mission to Venezuela to study the issue of political prisoners, and political persecutions.

Misogynist Hugo Chavez was invited to CNN's Larry King Live where he immediately blasted U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is his characteristic put down on women who are way more qualified that the infamous thug lieutenant colonel. Hillary Clinton has met with Venezuelan opposition leaders and may know what U.S. Ambassador Otto Reich has explained that (President) “Obama needs to call Venezuela’s president what he is: a terrorist and a drug-trafficker."

Chavez behaved in Larry King Live’s interview of his infamous personalities as a civilized individual far from how he behaves in front of Venezuelans in his abusive seizing of the networks for over four hours talking non-sense, singing, and consuming coca leaves. Chavez seemed like if he were in Disney World as depicted once by Reuters:

Chavez claims that he wants civilized nations to respect Venezuelans, but why does he insult everyone and disrespect human rights? Why does he keep political prisoners?

If Chavez wants to be a better leader he must respect human rights, treat Venezuelan civilians with dignity and respect, and enforce democracy. He should practice honest and transparent elections so Venezuelans will not be cheated by alleged manipulated results. Chavez must keep in mind the law of reciprocity where

“The law of reciprocity can basically be summed up by stating the golden rule: do unto others as you would have others do unto you. However it goes one step further than this. The law states that whatever you do will be returned back to you. In other words, if you want to create success for yourself, help someone else become successful.”

The growing risk of conflict in Venezuela by Enrique ter Horst

The following article written by Enrique ter Horst, PhD is currently circulating the Internet. I have not found this article on search engines, thus I posted it on my blog 2 until I find the original source.

The growing risk of conflict in Venezuela
Enrique ter Horst
Caracas, 18 September 2009

Signs announcing conflict in Venezuela have been present ever since Hugo Chávez was elected President of the Republic in 1998, with his discourse of social hatred and political revenge. These signs are now impossible to overlook, as President Chávez, flagrantly violating the Constitution, has started to turn his discourse into decrees, laws and governmental decisions directed at cancelling civil and political rights and dismantling the liberal state and market economy the Constitution, his Constitution, theoretically guarantees. His declared aim is nothing less than to extend his authority to all sectors of human activity, indefinitely, under the guise of “socialism”.

Earthquake 6.2 Ritcher Scale in Venezuela

Loved ones in Venezuela were telling me that there was a very unusual storm with hail in Caracas when the 6.2 earthquake trembled the city.

Perhaps Liberator Simon Bolivar, and other illustrious Venezuelans resting at the National Pantheon maybe sending a message to infamous Hugo Chavez!

As of this time after 9:00 P.M. there are still areas in Caracas without power. Relatives and friends living on the coast near the earthquake epicenter have not checked in with family members.

Encore Chavez - September 9, 2009

Update:

Andorra court freezes bank accounts linked to Hugo Chávez

http://english.eluniversal.com/2009/09/10/en_pol_esp_andorra-court-freeze_10A2724087.shtml

For those of us who do not speak Catalan, but speak other romance languages the following article from Andorra is easy to understand, and it seems that infamous Chavez may have been caught allegedly financing terrorism (encore une autre fois).
