UPDATED: Venezuela's Political Disaster - August 30, 2008

Dear Journalists,

Venezuelan Women, students, and several sectors are protesting the proposal of 26 laws which were defeated on December 2, 2007. (Please click on the resources links at bottom of this message).

Below is link to online petition that is circulating the Internet to stop the undemocratic actions with an open letter to the Organization of American States Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza:

The OAS knows better, and its inaction to restore democracy in Venezuela is intriguing.

In the meantime, Chavez continues to gather power based on the ignorance of Venezuelan citizens as denounced by Venezuelan Hero Yon Goichoechea's article last week:

Cambios Militares

And explained by Ambassador AdolfoTaylhardat in his opinion article below:

While most of us know that Chavez, his family, and those around him have immense fortunes of Venezuelans' money acquired under very questionable circumstances as reported Hispanic American Center for Economic Research in Washington, DC in the link below:

I was outraged to learn from Venezuela Real's website under what conditions Venezuelan public services are after eight years of Chavez showing off around the world spending huge amounts of money in every trip, embarrassing all that know that the infamous leader does not represent Venezuelan values, and interfering in Argentina, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador, and other countries' economies as reported in the link below, and others related:

http://venezuelareal.zoomblog.com/archivo/2008/08/29/sillas-de-rueda-no-suben-a-busetas.html

Venezuela Real reports on the living conditions of citizens living in terrible housing, trash is not collected in the city, and other major negligence. Nevertheless, Chavez continues to abuse human rights, and ignoring democracy as he is actively doing with the passing of 26 laws that were rejected on an election held December 2, 2007.

Venezuelans need help from developed governments and international organizations to restore democracy and end corruption.

Cordially,
